A few words from our guests…

×  “Excellent! What a find! Just home from a wonderful stay at Samantha and Kit’s studio. It was idyllic – peaceful, restful and just a short trip from town, beach and supermarket. The studio is beautifully decorated with some wonderful works of art and is very comfortable and homely. It is well equipped for cooking and there is a lovely relaxing area to the front with sun loungers, table and chairs. We did some great sightseeing in the area as many places are just a short drive away. Would definitely recommend as away from it all, relaxing holiday. Looking forward to returning soon! – Shiela, June 2016 .
×  “I really enjoyed the course and would recommend it. Good friendly people who mixed well, lovely weather and interesting, photogenic, locations. The tutor Nigel is a good enthusiastic communicator and an experienced photographer who clearly knows his stuff. The hotel was at a good location in Sao Martinho do Porto and the town is easy and comfortable to walk around. We visited beautiful locations, particularly Obidos, which was worth a full day visit. The meals were relaxed, with good food and conversation.” – Derek, Photography Holiday, April 2016 .
×  “Thank you for providing a great course! I thoroughly enjoyed the course and having the opportunity to be out taking photographs with the experienced tutor, Nigel. We visited some great locations, it was a lovely group of people and it was good to spend time together over the meals. I have already recommended the course to a friend. I am definitely interested in doing a follow-up course with you” – Sharon, Photography Holiday, April 2016 .
×  “I have just spent an enjoyable 5 days (6 nights) with Kit and Samantha Jennings at their home, Casa Oasis, just outside Sao Martinho do Porto. I was on a Photographic holiday with tutor Nigel Harper, a professional photographer from UK. We were a small group, with the participants staying at Casa Oasis which has a charming cottage and spacious studio in a lovely rustic setting with far reaching inland views and just 3km from the beautiful sheltered sandy bay and waterfront of Sao Martinho. The 5 days were a good mix of tuition at the studio with expeditions out to surrounding towns where we could try out what we had learnt with help and encouragement from Nigel, who was a charming and enthusiastic tutor. There was also time out when we could do our own exploring and photography as we wished. Kit and Samantha were super hosts who went to great lengths to ensure that everyone was happy and nothing was too much trouble. Samantha provided several delicious meals and we were also treated to several meals out. Her bubbly and extrovert personality made for some great laughs and added a definite sparkle to the whole stay. A great time all round.” – Fran, Sept 2015
× “What set this holiday truly apart were our daily art lessons with Samantha and Kit in their neighbouring art studio. Every morning we were served a nice breakfast on the cottage terrace, and then we went to the studio for a couple of hours devoted to art. We covered quite a few techniques and Samantha and Kit ran the courses in such a way that the whole family was engaged. After the mornings’ lesson they served us lunch and then we were free the rest of the day. They gave us some tips on what to visit and we had a great time. Looking for a family break with a twist, I would definitely recommend this.”Marjan & family from Belgium, July 2014 (via TripAdvisor).
×  “We had a brilliant time at Casa Oasis, we loved it very much. Fantastic location, it is so quiet, it was everything we wanted and more. Thanks for your time spent in creating a very special place – Mark & Monica (on their honeymoon).
×  “Lovely setting, inspirational place to experiment with painting. Keep the courses flowing!” – Allyson Roberts, August 2014 .
×  “If you’re anything like us (active adventurous travelers who love nature, history, and getting to know your hosts) you would find this place to be something you might’ve dreamt up. You can cycle, hike, take art classes, dance classes, and even creative writing classes right on site. It’s 10 minutes to the beach, and close to Obidos. Nestled in the hills of costa da prata, it provides lush cliff side views of Sao martinho. Rustic and natural, the entire property is surrounded by fig and apple trees you can sample, or harvest to make a homemade dessert in your own portuguese kitchen! The accommodations elude a slight Moroccan flare that nicely compliments the gorgeous grape vine that canopies over the outdoor veranda. It is here we shared the most delicious, hearty and heart warming family style dinners (and don’t forget the wine!) with our hosts, and new friends Samantha and Kit.
In my mind mind, it’s these two that set this place apart from all the other places we’ve stayed during our travels. They LOVE what they do, and they are brilliant at it. They are warm, kind, funny, artistically talented and accommodating in a way that makes you feel like you have lived there for ages. And they are both wonderful cooks!  If you get a chance to come to Portugal, make sure you head an hour north of Lisbon for a few days to see these two. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

×  “The arts retreat is easy to find and in a lovely secluded dip in a little village. The garden is private and quiet. The terrace is vine and bougainvillea hung…..heavenly. The cottage has all basic holiday needs covered. The bed is exceptionally comfortable and the wood burning stove was marvellous on the one cold night that we had. I would recommend this to all of my friends. It really feels as though you are staying in a proper genuine old Portuguese cottage.” – Heather & Martin from the UK, May 2014 .
